The Cosafe lockdown and alert platform
Software that gets every adult on site told, in seconds, with the action attached — and writes the record while it happens.
A written procedure is only as good as the slowest step in it
Read your own lockdown plan and count how many steps depend on somebody physically getting somewhere. The office has to be told. Somebody has to decide. Somebody has to sound something. Staff in the far block find out last, if at all. Every one of those steps costs time you do not have.
Cosafe removes the running. A member of staff who sees something raises the alarm from where they are standing. Every person in the groups you have configured is told at once, on the device already in their pocket, and the alert carries the instruction for their role rather than just the news that something is wrong.
Leadership gets a live view of who has responded and what is happening in each part of the site, and the platform writes a time-stamped log of every action and decision as it goes — which is the thing you will want afterwards and never have.
Two packages
Cosafe publishes two. Which one you need is a function of how much of the incident you intend to run inside the platform rather than on a phone.
Alert and Respond
The base package. Raising the alarm and telling people what to do.
- Alarms — a pre-configured alarm button per scenario
- Groups — who is told, by role rather than by phone list
- Messages — updates during the incident, in one place
- Documents — the plan available on the device, not in a cupboard
- Panic Button
- Lone Worker
Command
Everything above, plus the tools for running the incident once it is going.
- Meeting Room — a crisis call in one click
- I’m OK — check-in, so you know who is accounted for
- On Call Alert — mobilise a team rather than an individual
- Checklists — the actions for each scenario, ticked as they are done
Six things that matter on a school site
All six are taken from Cosafe’s own UK documentation, and the sources are at the foot of this page.
Anyone can raise it, from where they are
A member of staff who sees something does not have to reach the office first. Cosafe’s own education customer makes exactly this point.
The alarm carries the instruction
Role-based actions arrive with the alert, so a teacher is told what to do rather than just that something is wrong.
Leadership can see the response, live
A live overview of who has responded and what is happening where, instead of a phone tree and guesswork.
It writes its own record
A time-stamped log of actions, messages and decisions — for the debrief, and for anyone who later asks what happened.
No hardware, and it works with the building you have
Software on devices staff already carry. Nothing to install in the fabric, which is what makes it deployable across a large site quickly.
Cosafe will configure and train, not just licence it
Sites, groups and roles set up with you, staff training, and a pilot run as drills and tabletop exercises before you rely on it.
What to settle before you buy, not after
None of these stop it being the right answer. All four come up at the first serious meeting, so they are better dealt with now.
It alerts the adults, not the whole school
Cosafe reaches staff in seconds with the action to take. It is not a public-address system and does not speak to every pupil — for a lockdown that is the right design, because what you need is every adult knowing and acting at once. Where a spoken instruction in every room is part of your plan, that is a voice alarm or PA system, and we install those.
Delivery channels, in writing
Cosafe’s UK pages describe push to any device. Whether SMS or voice fallback is included in your package is a question for the quotation, not an assumption.
Staff who do not have a phone to hand
Every school has lessons where a phone is not in a pocket. Worth deciding at design stage which rooms need a wall device, a wired button or a second route.
The data protection paperwork
Where the data sits, how long it is kept, and the DPA terms — settled before go-live rather than after.

Cosafe is software. A lockdown is a building
Anyone can resell a licence. What a school actually needs is somebody who will walk the site, work out which doors matter, check the locking against the fire strategy and then wire the two halves together.
- We are an electrical contractor first. Door hardware, containment, power and certification under The Specialist Electrical Group’s NICEIC approval — not subcontracted to somebody you never meet.
- Fire strategy, properly. We install fire systems as a group, so any locking arrangement is designed with your fire risk assessor rather than around them.
- The doors, if you want them. Verkada access control can hold a wing or a whole site from the same phone, and we install that too. Or we work with the hardware you already have.
- One survey, one number afterwards. The people who walk the site are the people who install it and the people who answer when you ring.
This is not legal advice
Martyn’s Law is not yet in force and no product makes an organisation compliant with it. The duty sits with the responsible person. We sell systems that make a written procedure something your staff can actually perform — that is a different claim, and a defensible one.

A survey, and an honest read of your current procedure.
We will look at the plan you already have and tell you which parts of it depend on somebody running somewhere. That conversation is free and it is useful whether or not you buy anything.
