Who runs SEGsafe
Two working directors, named, with a Companies House record you can check. On a site that tells you a law is not yet in force, that ought to be the minimum.
The people accountable for what this site says
Named people, on a subject full of bad information
The research behind this site found UK suppliers publishing that Martyn’s Law “is now in force”, that it is “in draft”, and that sixth-form colleges sit in the enhanced tier. All three are wrong, and all three are published anonymously.
We take the opposite approach on both counts. Every dated claim on this site links to the legislation or to the government guidance it rests on, and the people who signed it off are named here with a public record you can check against Companies House.
That instinct is not a marketing position, it is where both directors came from. The electrical trade has absorbed one safety duty after another — the Electricity at Work Regulations, Part P, the 18th Edition, mandatory EICR on rented homes — and every single time a wave of suppliers appeared selling the certificate rather than the safe installation. Martyn’s Law is that same pattern arriving in a sector that has not been through it before.
So we recognise the wave, because we have stood in it. That is the whole reason this site leads with a dated page about what is actually in force rather than a compliance package, and why it tells most schools plainly that they have no section 6 duty at all.
If something on this site is wrong, there is somebody to tell.

Tell us and we will correct it. The status page carries its own review date and is re-checked quarterly and after any commencement regulations.
Why we put our names on this
This site tells schools that Martyn’s Law is not yet in force, that no product makes anyone compliant with it, and that most of them have no section 6 duty at all. Those are commercially inconvenient things to say. They are easier to trust when you can see who is saying them.
